For the first time in just about two many years, the once-a-year NASCAR Cup Sequence race at Homestead-Miami Speedway was not the season finale. And while Sunday’s race at Homestead did not run on its initially scheduled day, NASCAR was in a position to squeeze it back into the first 50 % of its 2020 program.
Rain and lightning in the Miami area led to some temperature delays Sunday, but it also alleviated temperatures on what in any other case would have been a brutally scorching day and night time for drivers for the second straight week.
