Box Rating TAMPA, Fla. – Northwestern dropped the sequence finale to South Florida by a rating of ten-5.

Trailing four-, The ‘Cats received on the board in the top rated of the fourth inning. David Dunn led off the inning with his 1st double of the period, lining it down the left discipline line. He arrived around to rating on a Leo Kaplan RBI one by way of the left facet.

They tacked on an additional run in the top rated of the fifth inning right after getting the bases loaded with no outs. Casey O’Laughlin started off the inning with a leadoff double, followed by two walks from Charlie Maxwell and Kyle Burnett Jr. David Dunn drove his third run in of the period in the next at-bat bringing the Wildcats inside two. 

The ‘Cats tied the match up at four in the sixth inning on a two-RBI one up the center from Maxwell. Northwestern started off the rally with a Kaplan leadoff one, followed by two walks from Jack Anderson and Shawn Goosenberg.

Down three runs, the ‘Cats tacked on a run in the top rated of the seventh inning, on an Evan Minarovic RBI one, scoring Stephen Hrustich from next base. 

Quinn Lavelle started off the match potent with a scoreless 1st inning. Following managing into some issues in the third inning, Reed Smith arrived on in relief and received the ‘Cats out of the third inning. Matt Gannon followed Smith, stranding the runner he inherited to finish the fourth inning. Coby Moe arrived on in relief in the base of the sixth inning right after Anthony Alepra pitched into issues. Jack Sauser relieved Moe to finish the seventh inning, prior to Jack Pagliarini finished the day on the mound.

Senior Leo Kaplan experienced a big sequence, likely six-11 with two RBI and two stolen bases. He is now batting .360 for the period. David Dunn also experienced a pretty successful sequence, notching 5 hits and a RBI for the Wildcats. 

Chicago’s Big 10 Staff returns to the discipline on Tuesday, as they return to Chicago for a match from UIC. 1st pitch is set for four:05 p.m. CT. The ‘Cats will then head to Spartanburg, South Carolina for a match from West Carolina College and two video games from South Carolina-Upstate.
