The Intercontinental Hockey Federation (FIH) on Monday declared India as the hosts for future year’s junior men’s Globe Cup. This is the second time that India will be hosting the prestigious event, possessing staged it in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in 2016, the place the hosts lifted the coveted trophy. FIH stated that the competition will be performed in the direction of the conclusion of 2021 but exact location and dates for the event will declared at a later phase.
The junior men’s Globe Cup will see sixteen groups contend for the title, out of which six will be from Europe, four from Asia, including hosts India, two from Africa, two from Oceania and two from Pan The us.
Out of the sixteen groups, the six European groups, who have presently experienced for the event in India, are Germany, England, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and France, as they secured their berths by the European Continental Championships which had been held in 2019.
Reigning champions India had defeated Belgium 2-1 in the remaining match of the 2016 edition at the Key Dhyan Chand Stadium in Lucknow, which saw them elevate their second-ever FIH Junior Men’s Globe Cup.
India had also hosted the FIH senior men’s Hockey Globe Cup in 2018 at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
