The Kansas City Chiefs extra another developmental quarterback to serve as a backup to Patrick Mahomes by agreeing to deal terms with undrafted rookie Shea Patterson of Michigan, agent Bryan Ehrlich declared Sunday.
The Chiefs also a short while ago signed Jordan Ta’amu, who played with the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL. Veteran Chad Henne a short while ago re-signed with the Chiefs on a two-yr deal and will enter the time as Mahomes’ principal backup.
Ehrlich advised The Detroit News that Patterson was “wading through the approach … earning positive it was a excellent in shape.”
“It took a small bit lengthier, but now he is bought a household,” he advised the newspaper.
Patterson and Ta’amu ended up teammates in 2017 at Ole Miss, a yr ahead of Patterson transferred to Michigan.
Patterson threw for eight,800 yards in his 4 collegiate seasons, two at Ole Miss and two at Michigan, with sixty eight touchdown passes and 27 interceptions. He threw for 3,061 yards with 23 TDs and eight interceptions for the Wolverines in 2019.
